Seal of Biliteracy Pathway Awards Pilot
Join MABE, MATSOL, and MAFLA members in the Language Opportunity Coalition created the Seal of Biliteracy Pilot Project in Massachusetts. In 2015-16, a working group of Massachusetts ESL, Dual Language, TBE, and World Language educators developed a Seal of Biliteracy Toolkit to support implementation of the Pathway Awards Pilot.
The Seal of Biliteracy is an award given by a school or school district in recognition of students who have studied and attained proficiency in two or more languages by high school graduation.
The Language Opportunity Coalition encourages schools and districts to continue awarding the Bilingual Pathway Awards, recognizing significant steps towards developing biliteracy along a student’s trajectory from preschool into high school and college. More details coming in March.
Join the Seal of Biliteracy MA Google Group and send a message to the group stating you would like to get involved.
See the Seal of Biliteracy Pilot Project page for more information about the project.
